On arrival with my family, we were picked from Entebbe International Air Port and transferred to Imperial Royal Hotel in Kampala where we spent our over night. The next day Muteesa the Tour Guide picked us and drove us to Queen Elizabeth National Park following the mystical Rwenzori Mountain range for much of the journey and taking photographs.
As we accessed the park, we viewed Elephants, Buffaloes, and a variety of Antelope species feeding with their young ones. That evening we stayed at Mweya safari lodge.
During our stay at Queen Elizabeth, we had 2 game drives and we were able to see Lions wrestling which was unbelievable for us that my 6 year old daughter Toni broke into tears, to some extent it was frightening but on the other hand it was worthy the adventure.
We saw 2Leopards, Cape Buffaloes, Elephant, Waterbucks, and Uganda Kobs were many in number, Topi and Bush bucks. We had a 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward passing through a high concentration of breeding Hippos. This launch cruise offered an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing. We saw a number of bird species including the giant king fisher.
We tracked chimpanzees and a variety of primates like the Columbus monkeys, baboons and butter flies. We also had sightseeing in the crater region, the lake Katwe where the local people mine salt.
On the fouth day we drove to L. Mburo NP.
The Park contains a variety of attractions; it is dominated by extensive wetlands, rolling grassy hills, seasonal and permanent swamps, wooden savannah, and forests, which harbors a variety of plants and animal species. It is because of these diverse ecosystems that render the park to be one of the richest in bio diversity like Zebras, Elands, and Buffaloes, Impalas, Roam Antelopes, Leopards, Hyenas, Hippos, Bush bucks, Klipspringer, Crocodiles, Pelicans, Herons and the rare Shoebill stork. While in Mburo National park, we stayed at rwonyo rest camp.
We were later transferred to Kampala but stopped at the equator and Mpigi Royal Drum Makers to take photographs.
