We all know that feeling, the parents or in-laws are on their way to visit and there is so much to do. We want to have everything “just right” when they arrive and having time to get it all done is crucial. What things do you find important when there are visitors coming to your house? I know for me, to avoid any kind of conflict, some things are a must. Let’s take a look at some nice things to have ready before their arrival.
A Clean House
I know, I know, some of us despise cleaning; but having an organized house is a nice way to welcome people into your home, especially if they are going to be there quite some time. It’s not like you have to clean every single little thing, but just make sure it’s presentable. Some of the following things you could have done are: a clean floor, counters, sinks, dishes, toilet, sheets, furniture, and so on. And if there is absolutely no way that you can get it all done on your own, asks a friend to help you out or even consider hiring a cleaning service. If your kids are old enough, or your partner refuses to help you, bribery tends to work pretty well.
Stocked Groceries
If you are anything like me, you like food, and lots of it. It’s nice to walk into a place that is well stocked with all the goodies that you could possibly imagine. Some essentials that I prefer to have on hand are: milk, eggs, cheese, crackers, granola, salmon, brown rice, carrots, and I could go on and on. One suggestion would be to ask your guests what sort of things they prefer, after all, you are catering to them. And you never know, they may be on the HCG Diet, therefore, their food intake would be quite different to yours.
Extra Touches
Why not surprise your guests with something that would add an extra touch to their stay? Flowers from Glendale Flowers can never hurt, or maybe some nice dark chocolate, a fancy bottle of wine, special shampoos for soft silky hair, lotions, soaps, or books from the local library for the little ones. If this is their first visit to the area, setting out maps and magazines with surrounding attractions is also thoughtful.
