You just signed up for a gym membership, and you are about to go do your first workout.  But you are staring at your closet trying to find something to wear.  The key to wearing gym clothes is making sure they are comfortable and fit right.

When it comes to shoes, you want to wear shoes that will give your foot good support.  Saying this, you do not want to wear flip-flops the gym.  So many things can happen.  You can serious injure your foot.  You will be lifting weights and running on the treadmill.  While lifting weights, you could drop a weight on your foot or twist your ankle on the treadmill.  So what should you wear on your feet while at the gym?  First of all, don’t pick a shoe based on color.  This shoe may not support your foot properly.  You will want to wear shoes that can support your feet.  When you are out buying good training shoes you should look for a shoe that has good cushioning.  You will want a shoe to absorb the impact of your foot while you are running on the treadmill.  This will help your foot and knee not to hurt as much.  Secondly, you will want to look for a shoe with good stability.  These shoes will help support the arch in your foot.  Third, buy a shoe that fits comfortably.  In addition to wearing good shoes, you will want to find good athletic socks.  These socks will offer additional cushioning to your feet.  Many types of socks out there will soak up the perspiration from your feet to keep them cool and dry.  You don’t want to be 5 minutes into your workout and have your feet start to hurt because you have on the wrong shoes and socks on.

Another essential part of your workout is the clothes you wear.  You want to wear something that is comfortable and allows for a full range of motion.  Make sure the clothes are not too loose because it could get caught in a piece of equipment.  It doesn’t matter how high fashion your clothes are that you wear to the gym.  Usually clothes that are the most comfortable tend to be: sweatpants, leggings, shorts, t-shirts, sweatshirts, and tank tops.  By taking a trip to your nearest big box retailer you will notice they have a section filled with clothes just for working out.   There are many types of fabrics to choose from when you buy gym clothes.  Look for fabrics that breathe.  Your body naturally sweats to cool itself off. There are clothes made of synthetic fibers that will keep you cooler so you don’t overheat.  

As with wearing the right shoes and clothing at the gym, taking the right supplements can also help your weight loss experience a more enjoyable one.  Taking a why protein will help your body create the lean muscles that give you the look you have always wanted.  These lean muscles will burn more calories alone than you would with just a cardio plan alone.  A whey protein isolate is the best choice.  It is 90% pure protein and has less carbohydrates and fats than whey based concentrates.  Also, whey protein is dairy based so it is easier to digest than soy based protein supplements.
